Why
Charities like SAFE work hard every day to make the world a better place for animals. It costs money to make positive changes for animals. SAFE uses kind donations to print information leaflets, get awareness-raising commercials to be shown on TV, produce free educational resources to every secondary school in New Zealand and heaps more. Your support is crucial to what we do.

There are so many different ways you can raise money for animals.
Some ideas for fundraising:
- Hold a bake sale or soy-sausage sizzle.
- Hold a garage sale.
- Host a quiz night.
- Have a talent? Try busking.
- Do a sponsored event such as run, walk, swim or bike.
- Hold a fancy dress party.
- Sell bee-friendly flowers or homemade crafts.
- Sponsored silence or go phone or tv free for the weekend.
- Earn pocket money by doing odd jobs.
- School mufti day – ask your school if you can hold a mufti day for animals. You could even encourage students to dress as an animal for the day!

- Work out what kind of fundraiser you want to do. You will need to have a think about what you are good at and what resources you will need to do it.
- Organise your event. What will you need and who will be supporting you? When will your event be happening? If you are planning something at school, ask your teacher’s permission first. They might even have some awesome ideas to add to yours.
- Get supporters. Start off by talking to your family, friends and school and let them know why you are fundraising. You may want to make posters or advertise in a local paper.
- Give your donations. Chose a charity who helps animals.
