Transfer some of your soy sauce to a small spray bottle (if you don’t have one, you can skip this step but we highly recommend a spray bottle).
Mix a powder with the nutritional yeast, salt, smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder and cumin.
Cook the popcorn kernels in an air popper or covered pot – if using a pot, cover and wait for the kernels to start popping while giving the pot a shake every 30 seconds or so. Remove from heat once the popping stops.
While still in the pan, spray the soy sauce onto the popcorn so it is lightly covered but not soggy. Make sure you get most of them! If you don’t have a spray bottle, you can carefully tap the soy sauce out of the bottle and onto the popcorn.
Add the dry seasoning mix, replace the pot lid and shake so all the popcorn gets coated.
