It’s the height of the gladiator games in Rome. A huge crowd cheering on two weary gladiators surrounds the emperor, sitting on his throne in the stone coliseum. One of the gladiators falls on the hot sand and the other stands with sword in his hand and waits for the signal from the emperor. The emperor looks at the crowd. Do they want the fallen gladiator to live or die? With a simple thumbs up or thumbs down, the emperor makes his choice.

We are all emperors. We are all able to make a choice. Everybody is able to be kind. We can give kindness because we have it. By buying meat or products with animals in them is like giving a thumbs down to animals, and they will be continued to be killed. We have the power to choose not to buy these products and it will mean that cruelty to animals will be stopped. Simply, our choices decide whether animals live or die.

Compassion is something we can develop when we understand how something or someone is suffering. Animals DO suffer and will continue to suffer if we continue to make the same choices. We decide what we eat and drink, and that choice can be free from cruelty.

We knew that perhaps people wouldn’t know HOW to be cruelty-free, so my brother and I decided to help. We call ourselves the Two Brothers Kitchen. We have a YouTube channel and a Facebook page. We show how to make delicious food that is cruelty-free.

Come and see us
